Fall River Access Question 16 Years, 9 Months ago
Does anyone know how I can rent a boat (electric motor I believe is required, not sure) to fish Fall River in June? I'll be camping near Shasta and wish to get away for a day or two. Want to take a shot at the Hex hatch.

I stayed here once and the boat came with the rental. Looks like they rent boats without a stay as well:

When I was at the Spinner Fall last Summer, they told me that they only rent the jon boats to guests. I am not positive about the Circle 7, but they are owned by the same people.

Spinner fall does require a stay to get a boat. You are welcome to try us at fallriverboatrentals.com .
Thanks,

When I have stayed at the Spinner Fall Lodge the policy was to only rent boats to people staying at the Lodge. If a person stayed at the Lodge they would also permit lauching your own boat. It is also true that the folks who own Spinner Fall also own the Circle 7. If the water is low enough to get under the Spring Creek bridge you can float from the Spinner Fall Lodge to the Circle 7 one of the best floats ever.

Thanks to NCFFB I will get my chance at the Hex hatch.
I have booked a boat with Fall River Boat Rentals.
Anyone wish to recommend flies or where to buy Quigley's
versions of the Hex?

The fly shop stocks quiglexs patterns http://sto...282&products_id=2348

I would also reccomend you bring a bunch of caddis dries and pupas for the section of the fall that has the hex hatch. Sometimes
the hex hatch is a no show but the caddis are always thick.

Another, long range, option is to consider joining Wilderness Unlimited which has three accesses on the Fall River with boats for use by members. Upper, middle and lower are covered. They also have some pretty good fishing on other waters in the area that are private and patrolled. But, that said, it is only worth it if you can get up there regularly to fish enough to justify the cost.
