So what are you clowns doing on opening day?

I'll be hitting the North Feather as usual.

I know where the Keeper of the(BS)Light is gonna be.
I won't rat him out but I will tell if your going to be the area so you can avoid him.

Personally I think he's been smoking that stuff shepherds scrape off the bottom of their shoes before them enter the house, but I still won't rat him out.

I am sacrificing opening day this year to the guys in my Battalion (Christian Service Brigade). We have a Camporal that weekend and we have two squads that will by tying knots, paddling canoes, building fires, lashing poles, cooking, and a lot of other outstanding activities formulated to promote them from boys to men.

So, the mountain trout will just have to wait a few weeks for me to bless them with my attention!

Good luck to you Dale. I know where you will be although I have never fished that stretch of water. One of these days...

I'm heading to Oregon and going to hit several of my favorite rivers/lakes. Doubt I will trip over any of you! A friend recommended a high desert lake opening day WAY out in the boondocks (ie: no crowds), with dinner afterwards at the Cowboy Tree Restaurant. Their menu is simple; Chicken or Sirloin Steak. $23.50 includes your salad, soup, entree and dinner. Concerned a bit about proportions. The Chicken plate includes a whole chicken. The Steak is 26-30 ounces. No splitting plates. I anticipate we'll have enough to eat, and reports are good on the fishing for rainbows in the 12-20 inch range.

I will post a report with lots of details, but without specifics.

Brother Dale,

I'll be fishing the same water as I was the last time our paths crossed when we were fishing (when I was following your jeep in my truck).

My tip to the rest of you is to check out the extreme dry fly fishing near Scotty's Castle.

TD,

If you even think about sending throngs of sheeople to where the Shepherd will be fishin' on opening day, the only thing the Shepherd will be scraping off the bottoms of his shoes is what's left of your ass!

Once again, I will miss the joy of opening day fishing.

The Hounds are playing the Sacramento Valley Highland Games,[Woodland CA] and I will be roadying for them, kilt and all. The accordion player will be wearing her new Celtic Barbarian Warrior Princess costume in Leather......

WE are seriously considering taking Sunday evening and Monday all day to do some fly fishing.

Whaddaya think?? Yuba at Hiway 20 Br??
North Fork of the Yuba??

Any other ideas welcomed [but I AM wearing the kilt, no matter what you say....]

Me thinks that wading in the kilt could get a wee bit uncomfortable depending on the depth. And I do mean WEE!

Hey Ed, if you opt for the Yuba at Hwy 20 bridge, I might be able to join you. Perhaps everyone else will be on the newly opened waters. Let me know your plans.
