Got to meet Redwin and his grandson for the first time this
weekend and met up with Carpy, UC, Janet, Dave, and Road Dog
for a little micro-mini bash...

On Friday UC, Carpy, and myself fished Pond #1 at Bidwell Ranch.
It was the first time fishing the new rod that all you great folks
pitched in to buy - THANKS! The rod was/is a blast to fish with. The
fishing was tough. Managed a few hits and that was it. Left the water a
little early to eat and visit with folks...Charlie provided some fantastic
brauts for dinner.

Saturday we started out on Pond #2...this pond is a "nymph swimming"
kind of pond - not too much surface activity. It seems that the good
ole PT works everywhere and pond #2 wasn't an exception...later in the
day we fished pond #1 and the fishing was tough. The water is very clear
and the fish are very picky...You can see fish literally within
a few feet of you and they are rising all over the place - but what the
@$#%$ are they eating?...very tough...it looked like they were taking midges
but still had a hard time hooking them. I only managed one fish the entire
afternoon on a hares ear (nice 18" fish..).

Sunday morning Carpy and I fished Pond #2 and had pretty good results. We
were swimming nymphs along the bottom and hooking into some pretty nice fish.
The biggest fish I caught must of been about 23" - amazing fish. Actually the
best fighting fish I had was an 18 incher that took me into my backing...not bad
for still water...

Had a great time - below are a few pics:
