Fishing Potato Launchers 4/30/01 10:57 a.m.

This is how the story goes. Saturday night around the campfire all was invited, Fly Fisherman, Bait casters and Gold Miners. In a drunken stupor TJ told us how to fish mudsuckers with a potato gun.

1. First load the potato gun with a half of a potato.

2. Put you six-ounce weight into the potato.

3. Hook the mudsucker behind the neck and hang it outside of the barrel.

4. Lay out a hundred or so yards of line on the levy. (Note) you must do this for the line will not come of the real fast enough.

5. Use at least fifteen-pound test for anything lighter will not work.

6. Spray a little propellant into the gun.

7. Hold fishing rod straight into the air and open your bail

8. Fire the potato gun and watch you bait fly

As we all laught so hard it maid our stomachs hurt TJ went around passing out his business card telling us if we want to make our own launcher give him a call and he will give us instruction. Billy has a really great imitation of a flying mud sucker.
