Nice to get out even if not much luck fishing 17 Years, 6 Months ago
Hey Folks!

Dana and I got out this weekend with the kayaks and really enjoyed the great weather even if the fishing was pretty limited. Her brother came up for the weekend and we made a quick run out to Rancho Seco on Saturday and then out to Salmon Falls on Folsom Lake on Sunday. I caught a few very small bass out at Seco and so did my brother-in law. Dana just spent her time with the camera. All in all it was nice to get out. Here are a few pictures.

Dana in the water at Seco with her beautiful wood strip Kayak her brother made for her

Me soakin up that great weather at seco in my Hobie quest fishing kayak

My brother inlaw in Danas hobie quest fishing kayak. (I also have a beautiful wood strip kayak like hers made by her brother which stayed home on this trip)

A beautiful red eared sunfish taken on Seco, also picked up a number of other smaller bass

Getting ready to put the kayaks in the water on Sunday at Salmon falls, Folsom

The Hobies have a nice little wheel feature for hauling them any distance to the water

My brother in law Warren enjoying the weather and the Hobie quest Kayak

Dana enjoying the weather and her wood strip kayak

Dana enjoying taking pictures with her camera, nice shot of some honkers

The one fish caught that morning, we thought initially it was a trout, oh well, fun anyway

Dana fooling around more with the camera

Heading up the hill after a pleasant morning paddling around at Salmon Falls!

That is about it folks, nice to get out even if the fishing wasnt red hot. Look forward to seeing lots of you at the bash this year!

Best Wishes!

Bill

Hey Bill,
Thanks for the report! Looks like you guys had a great time. Thanks for reminding me about Rancho Seco as it would be a good place to try our canoe.
Man you and Dana are pretty lucky to have such a generous a Brother In-Law.

Tight Lines,

Jet

Hey Joe,

Congrats on getting your canoe! You will have a ball fishing and exploring areas with your son. I have had many wonderful times with my old town tripper over the last 25 years with the kids and my wife. A canoe opens up lots of fishing and exploring alternatives.

Yes, Dana and I were lucky that her brother was generous with his time and so talented on those wood strip kayaks. Of course he didn't do them for free and we paid a pretty fair price for them.

Best Wishes and Tight Lines!

Bill

Hey Joe,

Forgot to mention that last post I included a picture from one of my many river trips with the old town tripper, that one on the John Day River about 10 years ago. There was 6 of us in three different canoes. Those smallmouth bass were sure good eating!
