Product review TFO TICR 9ft 8wt 17 Years, 8 Months ago
Bought a TFO TICR the other day. Fished with it for a couple of hours yesterday on the local bass lake. No fish taken (a little early yet.) The rod casts great. I fished with a floating line and a shooting head. The rod handled both easily, from short to long casts. Its a very good value at $209. It comes with a rod sock but no case. Also it doesn't have a hook keeper. If you can overlook those two items you've got a great rod. Mike

Thanks for the review, Mike.
Looking forward to the follow-up report on how it handled fish!

Take care,

Buzz

Hey Mike,

What kind of reel are you using with the TFO? I'm thinking about
buying the 9' 7wt for my arsenal.

I'm using an Orvis Rocky Mountain large arbor 7/8. I mostly use this rod for bass, so I don't need a top end reel. If you need a really fast rod the guys on Blanton's website swear by the TICRX, which is about $40 more.

Actually, I think the TiCr-X is a bit softer. I have both, and that's the way they feel to me.

My TFOs 17 Years, 8 Months ago
I have two of these rods... a 10' 9 wt. that I used up in BC a few years back and a 9' 4 wt that I use... well... all over the place. I love those rods. I'd call them Med-Fast... slow enough for a good presentation, fast enough for nymph fishing... and at that price, you can buy two!
