Jake and I returned from his annual check up at the vet today and I am happy to report that Jake is finally back down to his same weight as when he was just over 16 months old..over 11 years ago. drum roll........ 126 lbs!! Way to go Jake!!

I have a 12 yr old Brit at 43 lb. Same weight as when she was 12 mo, and she's still athletic. I think the secret is exercise and no "people" food. My biggest challenge is keeping well meaning friends from slipping her part of their sandwich...
One distant relative actually slipped her a little piece of chocolate (deadly for dogs) at the last Christmas Eve bash. That's when I left rather than provoke an embarassing situation...
