Fished the Trinity last weekend. Floated with a guide out of Trinity River Adventures on Saturday and wade fished on Sunday. Drifted from Junction City form the Dutch Creek Rd bridge down to Lime Point about 5 miles below Junction City. The weather was cold and the fish were lethargic up until the air temp warmed to above 50 deg F. We fished both indicator and swing. We only hooked 3 fish the whole day and landed 2. We fished a lot of tasty looking water but grabs were hard to come by. Still a great day on the river. There was pretty heavy fishing pressure but we had a lot of nice water to ourselves. On Sunday we fished a favorite hole between Junction City and Deloma. The fishing turned on at 11 and I hooked and landed 4 nice fish to 8 lbs. from 11AM to 12:30PM. They key is find water holding fish (find rolling fish). Indicator fishing in this hole was the key using golden stones on the top fly and a small nymph (red copper john or BH flashback PT on the bottom fly (10-12 ft below the indicator to the bottom fly) with 4x Flouro tippet and enough weight to get it down quickly (1 AB shot). My fishing partners also hooked 3 other fish during the same time period. The fish are there and they bite when it warms up a little so you have to hold your spot and be patient. It will happen.
