The report was good, provided what, where, and with what information that a lot of discriminating anglers require...if there was spam involved, it was, in my opinion, "spam lite" because it wasn't signed "_______ the Guide" and/or the post didn't appear to contain obvious links to a commercial enterprise (other than the poster's boardname).
If a poster is or appears to be a guide/guide service/outfitter/shop owner and doesn't include the obvious link, individuals in whom an interest is peaked, are usually always able to contact the poster off the board (e-mail, IM) to obtain additional info about any preceived or obvious services. I'd say that's a good use of the board as a resource.
I have no idea who the poster (RJSFLYTRIPS) is however, if I saw him on the river, I'd watch to see if I could learn anything...just like I'd watch any Sac Drifter.
