I know this will not be a big deal to some but to me it was huge, it was my eighth trip to the river this year looking for my first steelhead on a fly, plus a couple of trips last year, all with no results.I was beginning to think I would never catch one. Yesterday I finally caught my first steelhead on a fly, the only unfortunate part it was not a fly I tied. I have caught steelhead on spinning gear in the past so it was not about catching a steelhead, but the challenge was catching one on a fly. I must say that catching one on a fly is an intoxicating feeling and now I can't wait for my next one.
