Re:Swinging lower Sac 17 Years, 6 Months ago
i say any chance to break out the 2 hander is a good thing. over the past 10 years or so, i have swung a little here and there on the river (both with one handers and two handers) but never hooked a steelhead (on that river with that method). i find that they're just too spread out - but again, my experience targeting steelhead (without yarn) on that river has been pretty limited. i have, however, had some good success swinging for trout there. i've used my sage 6126 with an intermediate head and targeted areas where i knew fish were actively feeding (below redds, some of the high percentage runs, etc.) i find swinging to be a nice break from the monotony of watching the indicator float down stream, and i'll take the tug on the swing over pretty much any other take out there...

probably didn't help that much with your learning curve, but that's all i got...

have fun!
