The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

Just did that. Took my son-in-law-to be fishing Saturday while mother/daughter did wedding planning stuff. Fishing is the best antidote I know of for wedding planning! Anyway....the lake we went to is dynamite this time of year. The plan was to fish from the boat. But the lake is dropping fast and the ramp was out of the water already! Too muddy to launch from a 2x2 pickup. So we decided to settle for shore fishing. Can't get to the prime spot, but should be able to get some fish. But.....I had left my license at home. I was relagated to watching and coaching. I get in a lot of fishing so I wasn't too bummed. Besides....the boy is somewhat new to fly fishing and an eager learner....so it was a fun time And the son in law to be caught some good fish....including his biggest ever rainbow.

The sad part is that this is the second time I have forgotten my license. Couple years ago I drove half way down the Feather River canyon to hook up with TroutDale only to find I had no license whan I got there. You would think I would learn!
