Just returned from a good three day trip on the Trinity, 7 landed/5 on the swing.
I mostly swing using patterns suggested by Herb Burton. Going back up next week!
BH Burlap 6-8
BH Brown Hackled Peacock Nymph 6-8-10
Silver Hilton or Trinity Hilton (brown hackle wing and tail with gold ribbing)
October Caddis Pupae - Tangerine Dream ect 6-8-10
Muddler Minnow 4-6 200R
All tied on 200R, 9671 or 9672
These flies are all consistent producers 10-11 foot leader tapered to 0x or 1x or 10# Maxima.
Throw them down and across and hold on.
Nymphs:
#10 GB Hare's Ear
Any Stonefly, gold or black
Glo bug if the salmon are in
#12-#14 Copper Johns- Blue is the hot color believe it or not, but red, green and copper will work
The burlap and peacock nymph can be drifted under and indicator also
