I can't see what Shawn posted, but I can imagine. He has a very different perspective of Indian nets in Washington. Very WEALTHY tribes net the crap out of the rivers up there.

But I'll say this, being poor or a uber-wealthy multi billionaire does NOT give the right to destroy a salmon run. If Buffet and PacificCorp was doing the netting you and FOR would be sueing the crap out of them.

I'm gonna come across as the "racist", but their poverty is their own fault. God gives every person the gifts to become a prosperous human being and a benefit to society, and hiding their lack of achievement behind skin color in this day and age is B.S. One of the wealthiest and most fulfilled people I know is a Paiute Indian
(and he didn't get it running a casino). It is their tribal culture that keeps them poor.

400 to 700 KING SALMON!!! Keep saying it OVER AND OVER. That's just ONE GUY, and what he admits to netting. Even if they only weighed 6 lb each ( instead of 20+) a person could easily get 2 lbs of meat from each fish. That's 800+lbs of meat! Say they get 10lbs per fish which is more realistic, that is 2 TONS of SALMON MEAT. For personal subsistence? Tribal customs? Even if you shared it with all your neighbors I couldn't give away 2 tons of meat! Plain old greed. Simple and pure. Satan has a firm hand on them. Until the Tribes change their ways, I will never support any of their businesses. I pass right on by ALL the tribal stores and gas stations in the Klamath/Crescent City area, and you will never see my shadow in an Indian Casino.

I don't like to eat many fish species (taste/texture/smell), but I don't like being forced into eating garbage fish (tilapia/Chileian Sea Bass...) because greedy people have destroyed fishery stocks. What's next, CARP FILLETS?
