until the april opener

Now that Trout season has been closed for a few weeks I've found myself reminiscing about trout of yore. I can remember my first hookup of the season.



which yielded this beautiful fish



a face I won't forget



about seven months of very fond memories, friends, and fish laterit ended at the same place it all began with this fish



couldn't have been better.

Stay inside... never go fishing especially during winter... it sucks... don't go... There are definately no Steelhead in California rivers... You might as well go to Oregon.

What do you mean, "Now that Trout season has been closed for a few weeks"? There's a lot of trout fishing available. Valley tailwaters, plus quite a few Sierra streams, are open all year.

You don't have to hibernate.

trout season is never over...yesterday, after killing my three pheasants, I had a 12 fish hour on a nice local stream. Never saw another person, I guess everyone else thinks trout season is over too.

I know i don't have to hibernate, but my favorite streams are indeed closed. I live about 200 yards from the lower sac, but its just not the same as my small stream full of big mean bows.

I remember when I was 200yds away from the sac now its 200 miles. see ya for christmas. We will go get us some steelies. anybody up for a little christmas week fishing with us?? Phil you in?? blaino??
