We see how good trucking and trapping is working on the snake and columbia. I wonder if the ferc biologists were drinking larry craigs koolaid. I think that the powers that be in washington are running scared about some other dams coming down.

Typical FERC reply 17 Years, 5 Months ago  
Anything that would reduce power production will not get approval from FERC. They ALWAYS side with the licensee.

FERC reply is a CYA reply... 17 Years, 5 Months ago  
California power supplies have not kept up with the growing demand over the past 15 years. If the dams are dismantled, FERC is afraid of being the target of political fights when the next energy crisis hits California.

Regardless of the environmental benefits, I think there are other policy issues affecting the decision.
