umm.. Pyramid reg changes again 17 Years, 6 Months ago
Was down in the shop today and heard about a couple changes, backing off of the new regs actually... Pyramid lake fisheries site is still down so I can't get you a link but,

The no fishing within 500' a dock has been backed down to 100'
and
Season closing March & April at the Nets has been removed entirely

So that leaves in place just the barbless hooks reqd. (oh and no boozing it up at the nets nor camping on the east shore)

Chris mentioned that he got to take some video of the fish race (capture facility). He estimated that at least 75% of the fish had mouth damage (broken noses & jaws, ripped scissors etc), so hopefully the barbless change has some positive effect in that way, and that trebles aren't far behind.

Thanks for the update Eric!

Let us know when the link to the Pyramid lake fisheries site is up and running.

The latest changes sound good.

Most spots like Popcorn, etc. won't be affected much by the no fishing within 100' of a dock so that's good.

Looks like the tribe came to their senses in regards to the Nets area closure during the spawning period. Closing that area during the spawn would have been a major economic impact to the Tribal Store, The Marina and Crosby Lodge, etc.

The barbless hook regs is a good one and should reduce the number of trout that end up getting mouth damage due to hook removal. Eliminating treble hooks would be a great next step.

I don't think too many folks camp on the east side of the lake anyway so that change should not affect most folks who fish the lake.

The no-booze regs is for the marina area and north nets which have been designated as family picnic areas. South Nets is not affected by this so folks fishing there can still indulge in , and more
