Glue Gun eggs 17 Years, 10 Months ago
|
|
Seems like some one was trying that sometime in the last ten years. I seem to have lost my complete egg box last w/e on the Arrtus Ranch stretch of the T. Thought I might give hot glue eggs a try, if I can find my wife's glue gun on the sly.
Any Thoughts???
Thanks in advance.

been workin on some things ,in the recent past ,I was experimenting with dark beads and blk tungsten and then using shrimp color glue stix ,it looks like the egg and eye of the fry ,secret is I have a Nor vise ,and when ya spin the hoty glue it drives the color to the inside of the egg and makes the outer shell look like the clear part of the egg ,if you would like to try a few drop me a line ill shoot ya up some and you give em a go ,worked likje a charm on the lower Y for me ,every cast ,go figure ,,,a dead guy can fish . Did I mention im Irish ,perhaps that has alot to do with it

Deaddrift.
That is a very generous offer. I accept. Snail mail address by IM.
I know the NorVice, but don't have one. Was thinking of buying a fly turner, for use on epoxy headed flies as well.
I really want to learn to make the things myself, especially if they work...
Thanks again

Any rotary type vise will work. Place a bowl of water beneath the jaws of the vise. Place a hook in the vise. As soon as you get the shape, etc of the egg on your hook, remove and drop it into the bowl of water for a fast set. Worked pretty good when we used glue guns a couple of years (actually more than that) back during an egg craze phase.
Hope this helps.
