Let's meet up at Crowley Lake, weekend of Oct 4-5. Fishing is usually excellent at this time of year. Fall colors are beautiful. Plan would be to camp right at the lake at 6 bays. Folks who wanted something more organized could go into mammoth lakes for forest service campground or rv park.

Suggestion #2 17 Years, 9 Months ago  
How about meeting up at Davis Lake weekend of Oct 11-12. By fall, over 2 million fish will have been planted (not all catachable size, though). Plan would be to meet up at whichever campground (grizzly or grasshopper) on east side that is left open at that time of year--usually only one is open. Nice campgrounds--no reservations at this time of year. Everyone would be responsible for their own spot (2 vehicles can share a site). Usually pretty open in October, so shouldn't be a problem. Good fishing at this time of year.

I am clear for Columbus day w/e and probably for 4-5 Oct as well.

Can't commit yet, as I am supposed to be in Kings canyon, and am sitting at home, for various reasons.

Maybe as a little more time passes and it gets into Sept, we might pick up a few more interested folks. Let's stay in touch on this.
