Wow! Interesting logic in this. Quite the rhetorical train wreck. Speaking as a person that didn't care too much for the flame-fest on the old board, I can't say that I miss it much. Too many of the posts on the old board were insults and crap-flinging that got real personal. As I stated in my reply to the original DOA post, I've never met anyone from the board or been to a bash, so I wouldn't expect someone I've never met to flame me. Believe me, I can join in and joke with people that I KNOW, but to do that to someone you've never personally met or spent any time with, is out of line, in my point of view. The anonymity that modern communication offers (email, bulletin boards, etc.) often leads people to be less than civil with one another in this kind of forum. Why is that acceptable? I didn't take any of the old flames personally, as they weren't directed at me, but they sure filled up the old board with lots of crap that just wasn't worth reading.
