Hey, Michelle--first, I think it's flies for bait, though at first I read it as flies before 8, too. That aside...
I clicked on the link for your blog. As anybody who has participated in this board for the last few years would be I'm well-familiar with your great bug photos, which are awesome. I've got to say, though, that I'm equally impressed with your commercial work--the wedding photos, the lifestyle shoots. There's a quality, a way that you capture the personalities and emotions of the folks you're shooting, that is really impressive. I love photography, work for a book publisher that does quite a bit of photographic publishing, so I feel like I've earned my right to have an opinion. And my opinion is that you do great work.
By the way, I'm off to Memphis on Friday for a wedding, where I'll be meeting William Eggleston, whose daughter is marrying my nephew. Do you know his work?
Hiya Andrew!! I've been calling him that justfor fun for years, since that's how I first "saw" it, even though I now know better...

Thanks for your kind comments -- I love 'lifestyle' photography a lot and spend hours with my clients and wind up really getting to know them. My style is pretty loose and I strongly discourage posing which is frankly a great relief to most people!
William Eggleston is pretty much of a photography legend!! That's amazing he'll be in your family! What photographer
hasn't heard of him?!!
Speaking of bugs, I went on a rather protracted bug hunt this weekend and mean to post a bunch of shots here later since I haven't in a long time..
I hope to see you at the Bash???
