Surf Perch on the Menu 18 Years, 4 Months ago  
Get your rods ready the surf perch are startin to bite! Went out today about an hour before low tide and fished Humboldt Bay and had a phenominal 2 hours of fishing. Caught around 15 or 20 red tails before going to class which was a great way to start my day and keep my mind fresh.... or maybe it just distracted me the rest of the day while in class. Oh well.. last semester anyways. Fish were biting mostly on a custom tied red shrimp pattern with lots of flash on it (cactus chenille and krystal flash as well as glass beads) but also on mackerel colored mushmouth's and hot flash minnows. Tight lines to all
