Fished the NF last Friday afternoon. Caught three nice fish, largest about 17"--all fighters with big shoulders. Using my brother's 7wt, and the bigger fish bent that pole right over. Had the drag set a bit tight, and when I released, noticed that the fish had bent the hook (size 16 adams) a bit--barbless, but still managed to get him to hand. Thanks Dale for the info on flies. The adams and bhpt worked good. I used fine bubble packaging material (the plastic sheets that have zillions of little air pockets, not bubble wrap) for the post on the adams and always had a floater that I could see. Worked quite well and the fish didn't mind.
