I had to post this pic for SST. (Another Rock Creek heard from... this one runs thru Red Lodge Montana)
I spent all of my two weeks in Colorado minus my net, so a lot of RCR's (reallllly close releases).
I have to admit that the South Platte in the 11-Mile Canyon area and the couple miles between Spinney and 11-Mile reservoirs is really fun fishing. Dry fly action in spurts all day long.
The Dream Stream (I thhink they call it that) between the reservoirs is beautiful, switchback esses with huge browns waiting to pounce on the right dry... they are also experts at spitting
the hook.
I tried the Deckers area and only came away with a Flies and Lies flyshop hat...also got chased off the stream by lightning.
Clark Fork of the Yellowstone was too high, and Rock Creek in Red Lodge was fished out.
But, cant wait to go back! Henry's Fork, Yellowstone, and back to Colorado Springs in a couple weeks.
Harry (sometimes) in Hawaii
