I've had two Bald Eagle "Incidents". The first was at Hosmer Lake in Oregon. I was paddling around in my float tube during an awesome Callibaetis hatch and had caught a number of Atlantics. An Eagle passed by and perched in a tree across the cove from where I was casting. Next thing I knew there was a big splash and I turned to watch the Eagle pull out of the water with a nice Atlantic Salmon. He flew directly over me at about 15 feet, and as he passed by, my rod went down with an Atlantic of my own. It doesn't get better.
The second "incident" was on Quesnel Lake in BC last summer. I hooked a nice trout and it immediately came to the surface and started jumping. Next thing I know, there is this Bald Eagle diving down to try and steal my fish! The fish bolted and he missed on a dive into the water. Was cool nonetheless.
