The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

My wife is having her family reunion (I guess it's mine too) up near Coeur d'Alene and I'll be needing to get away for at least 1 full day. I've done a little research and found the St. Joe, NF Clearwater should be the best bets in the area. I'm hoping the weather cooperates. We'll be up there from the 26th-30th of June.

Any advice, alternate destinations? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Go over and fish the Henry's Fork of the Snake River.

St. Joes is a drive, can be done in a day, overniter is best. Nice spot though. Clearwater is a heckuva drive also, especially to reach trout water. Better known for metalheads - season/timing? Some BIG fish there.

CDA river above 90 might work. Spokane River works also, in spots, don't eat'em though or you'll wake up glowing.

Tube? Toon? Inflatable mattress? Lots of lakes in the area.

Cabela's and Sportsman's Warehouse also in the area too. That's another day.

(Ummmm...Hanks is a loooooooooooooong way from CDA, but I bet the fishing/catching is good! That's a three dayer at least.)

I'm planning on renting a boat or something on the lake, but I don't know how much fishing time I'll be able to get with it.
