The damsels are coming off in significant numbers and the fish have keyed in on them. The fish are quite a bit smaller than the standard Lake Davis size but give em' time...however there are a lot of them and they are hot and on a 4 weight a lot of fun.

Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.

Question. What is the water level like in the lake? Last time I fished it(before it closed)it was way down and we had to kick through a lot of weeds to get to open water on the west side.

Unfortunately the water level is noticeably down. I'm afraid like else where March and April killed us - very disappointing after shoveling snow like a madman throughout the winter.

But ya know a pram floats right over the top of those weeds.

Thats what I was afaid of. Unfortunately I don't have a pram, just a tube.
Just saw you're latest post. Sorry about your back. Have problems in that area myself, so you really have my sympathy.
