Prize Update 18 Years, 2 Months ago
Scott Freeman has generously donated a 1/2 day guided fishing trip on the E. Walker River (Scott knows this water VERY well).

And on a happy note, Carpy has uncovered an additonal 4 Crown Royal bags bringing the total of "Carpy's Velvet Bag Collection" up to 17!

On the downside, he still hasn't located the bikini.

More to come,

New Prizes 18 Years, 2 Months ago
I added three new prizes to the raffle list.

13. Clear Creek Fishing Fanny Pack__________________________________________________Ed Kelleher
14. High Sierra Fishing Fanny Pack Camo_____________________________________________Ed Kelleher

And in an update from Carpy, he found 4 more Crown Royal bags, bringing the total count in 'Carpy's Velvet Bag Collection' to 21 (I think I'm beginning to see why he's having trouble finding the bikini)

The list of prizes is growing

Jeez, we don't have that many CR bags and we own a bar.

BTW, for those of you that do like CR and travel to Canada, may I suggest that you try the Crown Limited only available there. Very smooth...

I'll try to get some pictures of the progress up by the end of the weekend...

Don't forget we are raising money for a number of great causes, most important of which is our buddy Salman.

Raffle Rod Progress :pic: 18 Years, 2 Months ago
I got the grip and reel seat mounted up on the Raffle rod and it felt more "substantive" than a 4 weight (which was how the blank was sold). So I measured the blank using The Common Cents System and the rod calculates out to a 5.65wt with a Moderate action (Action Angle = 60). So we will call it a 5/6wt, meaning 5wt with a DT line, 6wt with a WF line.

The grip is over-sized, which ergonimically works much better for a longer rod. You really have to hold in your hand and/or cast it to appreciate the difference.

Here is a pic of the butt section with seat and grip (sorry for the photo quality. I don't have a light box and my photographer buddy lives in AZ):
