Need some info for the east coast 18 Years, 2 Months ago
I'll be out fly fishing on the Deerfield River in Massachusettes this week. I'm having trouble finding any new reports on the conditions at the moment. Does anybody know of an active forum for fly fishers in the New England area. In particular Western Mass?

I fished out there a few years back, but it was much later in the summer. Some of you might remember the post on the old board.

Sammy, your best bet would be to contact a local fly shop, either by phone, or better, drop in when you get there.
They should know what the conditions are.

Sammy, I used to live in Amherst 35 years ago and fished the Deerfield. There used to be a flyshop in Northampton. Also a small sporting goods store in Charlemont next to the ski area. I suspect North Adams may have one, too. Even local hardware stores have small fishing departments with someone knowledgeable. Google that area.

Good luck.

PS: Buzz, that was about the fastest "delete" I've ever seen on the board. That post was gross. Good job.

Lucky timing, I guess.
I agree, gross...NOT on a family board.

thanks guys

I'll put some effort into searching online for shops. Thats awesome you lived in amhurst. My mothers side of the family is from that area. Turners falls to be exact. A beautiful place for a fly fisherman!

I'll post a report upon return. Looks like showers while i'm there so things don't look as good as i'd hoped, but we'll see.

Sammy: Try this board, it's based mainly on the "other" coast.
