Yosemite Recomendations? 18 Years, 3 Months ago
Taking the family up to Yosemite this weekend and was wondering if anyone knew how it was fishing. Any help is appreciated.

Flow data looks as though the Merced is running pretty full.

Maybe up in the meadows, if Tioga Pass is open yet....

Doesn't look at ALL likely.

I agree with Ed. I hear the waterfalls are flowing pretty good right now. They should be very pretty to look at, but the flows don't make for very good fishing.

Afraid that was the case. I believe Tioga is still closed.
I'll bring the rods, but probably use the camera more.

your best bet will be El Portal on the Merced but like you know already... probably blown.

Have a good time though

Flows are very high on merced right now.
Might consider the south merced at wawona.

Here's what your looking at as of thursday 5/8:

merced at pohono bridge 2150 cfs
merced at foresta bridge 2500 cfs
merced at briceburg bridge 3700 cfs

south merced at wawona 725 cfs
south merced at 140 bridge 1150 cfs

Didn't get to fish much as it was a camping trip with the family. However, the water on the Merced was high but clear in the valley. Didn't catch a thing in the two brief opportunities that I had but did see a couple decent bows. Spooked them both.
