Damn Charlie, you are a predator....any chance you are out of freezer space and need some place to "store" some of that meat? I came out empty this year, had a co tag but sent it back, new job and all killed any prospect of traveling to hunt big game.

It was a tough hunt this year due to a heavy winter kill. I walked a lot of miles trying to spot elk and got lucky a couple of times. No, I have three freezers, but if I do run out I'll be sure to let you know. You realize, of course, that any of my fishing trips include at least one meal for those attending of some type of wild game.

charlie, did you shoot these crittes with your 300 wsm also? I purchased a savage 116 in 300 wsm and am thrilled with the results I get at the range with it. Sure seems like a pretty damn good round. look forward to putting some meat on the table one of these days. next year I am planning an out of state trip for sure.

Yep...I have mine shooting 3 to 3.5 inch groups at 400 yards. Barnes TSX 168 grain, CCI 250 primers and 66.5 grains of Win 760. Not super fast but it is super accurate. Mine is a Browning A Bolt with the Boss and a synthetic stock. I put it on a bench rest shooters solid steel rest that locks it down completely and it shot a .314" group at 100 yards....far better than I could do ever.

I bought the stainles savage with the adjustable muzzle break, the only thing I would have done different is not get the muzzle break, the recoil is really pretty mild so I never use it. (I swear my .308 is worse), anyway very happy with the gun, I was looking at some high dollar guns (specificaly the kimber) but liked the savage more, since I am a huge fan of old 99's I decided to go with the savage, kinda keeps it nostalgic for me. Anyway, I had an old redfield scope laying around, threw it on there and it is a tack driver, eventualy I am going to put a new leupold on it. I gotta start reloading, shooting has gotten expensive.
