Orvis waders one year later . . . almost . . . 18 Years, 2 Months ago
Many of you remember the fiasco I went through beginning in May last year when my first pair of Orvis Pro Guide waders began leaking and I was unable to fix or get them fixed. In a nutshell, I sent them back to Orvis and got a very unsatisfactory response and offer from their repair center. I posted my dismay on the NCFFB and Orvis SF and Orvis Reno immediately stepped up. Lance and Jan at Orvis Reno ultimately replaced my waders with a brand new (and vastly improved I must say) pair of Orvis Pro Guide 3 waders. The jury was out.

It is nearly a year later and I must report that these are by far the finest, most comfortable waders I’ve ever owned. The improvements include double-weave condenier that is lots stronger than the original Pro Guide 2, so it is much more comfortable and much tougher. The feet are redesigned to fit and are also much more comfortable. The reinforced areas in the butt knees and back of the thigh give me confidence no matter where I am. This is not shameless spam, rather a report I promised after I used the waders for a year.

So, I want to give a shout out again to Orvis SF and Orvis Reno for making things right for me last year. I appreciate all you did and the Orvis Pro Guide 3 waders are some of the finest I’ve seen in quality, comfort and workmanship. Thanks again Guys!

Jeff

Thanks for the update Jeff. I too have a pair of pro guide II that seem to leak but I can't locate the problem. Oris says to put the alcohol on the outside where Simms says to put it on the inside. I may send them in for repair and see what happens. It's good to hear the new ones are working out well. I need to get a new pair here in the future and glad to hear good things about Orvis since some of the other's prices have gone crazy.

Jeff...

I don't get on the boards that often but I'm glad to hear that the waders are working out for you. Thanks for the shout out... much appreciated. On a side note and as always.... If you're having a problem with Orvis product let us know... I'm always happy to help. Jet- come and see me or give me a call about your Pro Guide II's (if you still have them) we'll take care of you.

Best regards,

Kevin

Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the offer. It nice to see folks dedicated to customer service. I did sent them back through the new Roseville Orvis shop back in August. I will stop by on Friday to see what is the current status. I would like them back for Steelhead season. I love the waders too but finding leaks are more difficult than other brands. Not in SF too often but will stop by if in the area. Take Care

Regards,

Jet
