Hey TD,
I'll be headin up to Red Bluff on Oct. 30. Planning on fishing the N.F. below Cresta by the tunnels on Friday morning. Any thoughts on how the river will fish, flies to bring? Las Vegas is experiencing a bit of a drought in the construction arena. 12 years here, and still no trout sightings in the local area. Didn't make it to Utah this year, but did spend 3 day over in Mammoth area last July.

Bob,
The river is fishing really well right now and should through the end of the season. Make sure you have some #16-#18 BHPT, and some #16-#18 Parachute Adams regular and in olive green.
Any other small stuff you have should work too.
Besides the BWO's there are lots of caddis in this river.
Get a hold of me when you're here. If I am able I'd be glad to show you around.

Wow...I miss that stretch....I like the way the water moves through there...caught some nice fat rainbows right in that area.
Here is a little known trivia fact...Carpy's Grandpa helped blow that tunnel through Elephant rock(dome)with dynamite...or something like that.
I look forward to getting back up that way to fish sometime!
