Paul I tend to agree with you on the larger issue of the show degrading some. I be there is going to be a bigger turnout of booths and sellers at the Sac ISE. I think the halls are pretty limited at San Mateo.
I went on Thursday afternoon with my friend John. We wanted to see UC and spent some time with him. Watched his fly tying presentation and learned a lot from him. We walked the whole show and like you never touched a rod or a reel. We did however look at a lot of the kayaks and the Dave Scadden Pontoon boats.
I have come to the conclusion that either I own all I need nowadays or there is not all that much out there that I can't live without anymore. Now if you were to ask she would tell you that I crossed that line a long time ago
I think I focused more on talking about some destination fishing and planning my next family vacation which might incorporate linking up with a good friend and his family and doing some joint activities with our combined families - with less focus on the flyfishing.
I am interested in seeing the Fly Fish only show at the Alameda county Fairgrounds.
Went Thursday also to beat the crowds. It worked! Seems the ISE and Fly shows is the only place I see you anymore.
