I also have a 5-6 year old clear camo....use it a lot. No problems with coiling or loss of slickness. I do take it off the reel during the off season (Dec-Mar) and store it in loose coils which might help. I also clean it thoroughly. I try not to stretch the line as I believe, from conversations with Cortland in the past, that such stretching just exacerbates coils because of the internal structure of the line being stretched out of shape while the outside retains it's original shape. Could be BS but regular cleaning with a soft damp cloth with mild dish soap and then a complete rinse has kept mine new looking and feeling. One warning...don't let your fly line get caught in someones outboard prop...that will do nasty things to it.
